I’ve just become the proud owner of an Amazon Kindle (Wi-Fi Edition) and I’m pleased to announce tht it’s probably the first piece of Tech that I’ve bought because I actually want to use it and not just play with new Gadge!

The footprint is small and it’s very light – I already have about 120 books on there including text books and martial arts syllabus notes. Needless to say I’m very impressed – it’s very easy to use and the reading screen is amazing in my opinion.
I feel that the Kindle is a very astute piece of design, not too much, not too little but the right balance of form and function without going overboard. It does what it’s supposed to do, it does it well. It does not try to do any else too fancy that what is was designed for AND it’s a nice elegant design. I’m wondering if the steampunk community would make a wood / bamboo version this is definitely a piece of Tech that would steampunk incredibly well – any takers?
